The Ulm Museum says GOODBYE! Admission-free farewell week from April 10 to 16

On April 17, 2023, the Museum Ulm will close due to upcoming reconstruction and renovation measures. Before then, we bid you a fitting farewell with an admission-free farewell week.

From April 10 to 16, 2023, a diverse and varied program awaits you:

11-17 h: Open with free admission on Easter Monday

Tue I 11 April 2023

14 h: Guided tour “Protest! gestalten”

The exhibition focuses on forms of resistance and protest in contemporary international culture. Following the concerns of Otl Aicher, one of the most influential communication designers of the 20th century, and the major protest movements of the recent past, works by contemporary artists* and graphic designers* are presented.

14-17 h: Family afternoon

Let yourself be surprised by our offers for the whole family with free admission. The family afternoon is dedicated to the young and youngest visitors.

At various stations, paper airplanes can be folded, works of art can be created with adhesive tape, and construction site signs can be made.

Fun and games are added with a can-throwing station and a paper airplane test site.

18:30 h: Kunstknall

The kunsthalle weishaupt and the Museum Ulm jointly invite especially students, trainees and young people up to about 30 years to the “Art Bang”.

With free guided tours followed by a drink, the collections and current special exhibitions of the kunsthalle weishaupt and the Museum Ulm can be discovered.

Meeting point for the “Art Bang” is the foyer of the kunsthalle weishaupt.

14-19 h: Graffiti Workshop with Partners in Paint

For some time now, street art has no longer been associated primarily with illegality, but is viewed primarily as an art form.

In his workshop, which lasts several hours, Milo will first introduce the history and secrets of graffiti. Afterwards, participants can try their hand at it themselves under supervision on a now empty exhibition floor of the museum.

Please come in clothes that can get dirty. Masks and gloves are available.

Participation fee: <25 years = 30 €, >25 years = 40 €.

Maximum 10 participants, so registration required by Friday, April 14, 2023, at 12 noon by mail to vermittlung.museum@ulm.de.

19-22 h: “Royal Museum” DJ set Alkapulcoroy + drinks.

To kick off the farewell weekend, the special exhibition “Protest! gestalten” will be open until late.

Sat I 15 April 2023

15 and 17 h: Guided ARt chat Session.

Using their own smartphone or museum tablet, visitors* can join in the discussion via augmented reality in the special exhibition “Protest! gestalten”.

The guided session with instruction guarantees an easy introduction to the technology.

7-21 h: Live concert by Gib Gerda Gin.

End with a live concert by Gib Gerda Gin – known among others from Kulturnacht, Stürmt die Burg and GOLD. Concert and sale of drinks (by bottle) in the atrium.
