Open Monument Day at the Museum Ulm: Guided tour at the historical Kiechelhaus

On Open Monument Day, the Museum Ulm, which is currently undergoing renovation and conversion, will open its doors to the historic Kiechelhaus!

As the oldest wing of the Museum Ulm, the building isted as a monument forms the historical starting point of the museum’s architecture. The former patrician house owes its name to the wealthy Kiechel merchant family. In its original function, it served as a business and residential building and was converted from a 14th-century Gothic house into a Renaissance palace. Even today, its architecture and furnishings bear witness to the luxurious lifestyle of Ulm’s wealthiest merchant families.

This architectural tour with Christoph Kleiber will take you in and around the Kiechelhaus.

The event is free of charge.

Guided tours: at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., with Christoph Kleiber, Monument Management (in German language)

Duration: approx. 45 minutes each

Meeting point: Schelergasse 5, 89073 Ulm (side entrance during renovation)

Number of participants: max. 25 people per tour

Participation requires registration by Friday, 12 September at 12 noon at the latest, by email to vermittlung.museum@ulm.de
