Film screening at the Ulm School of Design building

As part of the exhibition “Aufbruch in die Realität: Filme von Günther Hörmann” (Departure into Reality: Films by Günther Hörmann), the HfG Archive will show the film “Ruhestörung. Ereignisse in Berlin Juni 1967” (Disturbance of the Peace: Events in Berlin, June 1967) on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:15 a.m. in the Small Lecture Hall.

The film “Disturbing the Peace: Events in Berlin, June 1967” documented the first phase of the student movement in West Berlin. Massive demonstrations took place during the Shah’s visit. Student Benno Ohnesorg was shot dead. The protest became organized; the “Critical University” was founded at the Free University of Berlin. The spark spread to West Germany.
