The Beaver – The Return of an Old Acquaintance to Southern Germany
Lecture by Franz Spannenkrebs
In the middle of the 19th century, the beaver was almost extinct throughout Germany and Europe, mainly due to intensive hunting. After more than 150 years, it has been back for some time – today it is strictly protected. In his lecture, Franz Spannenkrebs tells us something about the hard-working master builder who creates new habitats through his activity in gnawing and dam building; something that always causes problems, especially in agriculture.
