On view through October 4, 2026: The Lion Man visits the kunsthalle weishaupt – and returns to the Museum Ulm in January 2027

On view through October 4, 2026: The Lion Man Visits the kunsthalle weishaupt

From December 13, 2025, through October 4, 2026, the Museum Ulm shows a small exhibition titled “Fabulous! The Lion Man and His Descendants” at the neighboring kunsthalle weishaupt. The artwork from the Ice Age will be on display there throughout October 4, 2026, and will then move to its new home back at the renovated Museum Ulm. The Lion Man will be on display back at Museum Ulm from January 16, 2027, through June 6, 2027, in the new permanent archaeological exhibition “Tracing Humanity: Archaeology Around Ulm”. Due to ongoing construction at the museum, the exhibition can only be open from January throughout June 2027, until the neighboring entrance building of the museum will be torn down and constructed anew.

After the end of the exhibition “Museum Spelled Out A New Way: Part 2: M–Z” (November 21, 2024–October 5, 2025), presented by the Ulm Museum as a guest exhibition at the kunsthalle weishaupt, the figure had been out of the public eye for a few weeks starting October 6, 2025.
